Environment & Community
Whatever the size and dreams of your programme, business, organisation or hapū, if you care about environmental and community outcomes your work is important to me.
Resolving environment and conservation dilemmas is one of our great modern challenges. It is a challenge that will always involve people - iwi and hapū, communities of interest, landowners, individuals with a passion one way or another - because the futures of people and the natural world are closely entwined. Achieving impact will depend on understanding and responding to the human landscape as much as the ecological landscape.
Weaving these worlds together is particularly important for landscape-scale conservation initiatives for predator free and other restoration outcomes. Here, conservation impact and effectiveness are greatly enhanced by connecting scattered local initiatives into a cohesive and powerful landscape-scale vision.
Alternative Endings has worked at all scales of conservation and environment solution finding: from local land care and restoration groups to region-wide large landscape-scale programmes managed by consortia of iwi, government, research and non-government organisations.
